Call Out to All Mono-Ski Racers!

Call Out to All Mono-Ski Racers!
Disabled Sports FarWest Call Out to all Mono-Ski Racers! Disabled Sports needs your help. Each year the Bay Area Council of Ski Clubs http://www.skibac.org/ (BAC) organizes a series of races for club members to enjoy in and around the Tahoe region. In addition, the BAC has raised thousands of dollars for Disabled Sports USA Far West by hosting an annual early Spring fundraiser called the Ski-For-All.

Disabled Sports would love to have a mono-skiing forerunner for as many BAC races as possible this winter. Races that are taking place at Alpine Meadows are a priority to fill first.

Race dates at Alpine Meadows are as follows:
Jan. 9th; Jan. 10th, Jan. 23rd, Jan. 24th, and Feb. 20th

This Saturday, on 1/9 at Alpine Meadows, we would love to invite one of you to participate as a race forerunner in support of the BAC and Disabled Sports USA Far West. The selected forerunner will meet BAC President, Dennis Hefley, at race registration in the main lodge between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. The race times are 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. It would be great if the selected mono-skier could forerun all three, but the priority is 10am, then 11am, then 1pm.
In the past, the BAC and Disabled Sports have experienced a great deal of success with program outreach and fundraising, thanks to the help of talented skiers with disabilities who have volunteered time on the hill as a race forerunner.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Please feel free to contact Vanessa, Program Coordinator, at vanessa@disabledsports.net with any questions or to sign up!  See More at skibac.org

Wow it is nice to see the call going out to all monoskiers!

Be sure to check out this new movie about the struggle to assemble a team of monoskiers. It is a really great drama by a Sundance awarded swedish director.
