Register to become a Post Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist!  The Pink Ribbon Program is coming to Reno, Nevada on November 4 & 5, 2011.  This very special course is open to physical therapists, occupational therapists, Pilates instructors, personal trainers, lymphedema treatment specialists and nurses.   The Pink Ribbon Program helps restore the quality of life and healthy body image for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer despite any physical limitations brought on by their course of treatment.  Click for more information on the Pink Ribbon Program and to register for these special classes.

Course Description:

The goal of this interactive two day course is to provide the participants with a knowledge base that is essential to the successful evaluation of the breast cancer survivor, from diagnosis to treatment, recovery, prevention of lymphedema and proper exercise guidelines and protocols.

Post Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist

Continuing Education Credits:

Approved by ACE (American Council on Exercise) – 1.1 CECs
Approved by PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) for 11 hours

Upon completion of the class you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the different surgeries, including breast reconstruction and the impact of these surgeries on physical mobility.
  • Understand the signs and symptoms of upper extremity lymphedema and axillary web syndrome.
  • Develop a comprehensive rehabilatation program using a Pilates-based approach including movement sequencing specific for the breast cancer survivor.

One of our goals at the Healing Moves Foundation is to bring these special physical activity programs to our communities.  To achieve this goal, we are excited to announce our participation with the Pink Ribbon Program designed for breast cancer patients.  This program helps restore the quality of life and healthy body image for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer despite any physical limitations brought on by their course of treatment.  

The Pink Ribbon Certification Program is open to physical therapists, occupational therapists, Pilate’s instructors, physical fitness professionals, registered nurses, and healthcare professionals.   Currently, the program has certified over 400 instructors in the United States, Australia and Europe.
